Week 0 Review

It’s been a great start to the college football season so far. There were only four games with FBS teams in Week 0, but the games did not disappoint as three of the matchups came down to the wire. First we’ll head to the city of Albuquerque, where New Mexico played Montana State in a thrilling FBS vs FCS matchup. New Mexico led 31-14 at the start of the fourth quarter, but Montana State came back with the help of a 94 yard rushing touchdown by RB Adam Jones to win the game 35-31. Next, we’ll go to Reno, the second most well known city in Nevada, where the Nevada Wolfpack were facing off against newly minted ACC squad SMU. Nevada, the 28 point underdogs, were leading 28-13 at the start of the fourth quarter, but two touchdowns and a safety by SMU, including a Preston Stone passing TD with almost a minute left in the game saved the Mustangs from a devastating loss. Finally, we’ll go across the Atlantic Ocean to Dublin, Ireland. There, #10 Florida State took on ACC opponent Georgia Tech in a thriller. Georgia Tech's offensive line pushed FSU’s vaunted D-line around, which allowed Georgia Tech RB Jamal Haynes to rush for almost 100 yards and two touchdowns.  DJU struggled throwing the ball more than 10 yards in front of the line of scrimmage, which greatly undermined any chance FSU had of pulling away. All this culminated in a Georgia Tech upset victory on a last second field goal to seal the game. Next week has the rest of the FBS teams begin their season, so stay tuned for that.
